If you accidentally deleted your Coin98 hardware wallet mnemonic from the app, the first rule is simple: do not reset the device. A hardware wallet normally stores the seed inside its secure chip, so deleting a wallet profile in the Coin98 Super App may only remove the connection and local display information. Recovery depends on what exactly was deleted.
Step 1: Determine what was deleted
- App profile deleted: The Coin98 app may have removed the wallet account from its local list, but the hardware device itself may still be intact.
- Mnemonic words cleared from notes: If you only deleted your written backup, the funds are still safe only if the device remains unlocked or you still have another backup.
- Hardware wallet reset: If the device was factory reset, the private keys were erased and only the original BIP39 recovery phrase can restore the wallet.
Step 2: Try reconnecting the hardware wallet

- Install or reopen the official Coin98 app from the official source.
- Connect your hardware wallet via USB, Bluetooth, or the supported method for your model.
- Enter the device PIN to unlock it.
- In Coin98, choose the option to import, connect, or add a hardware wallet.
- Follow the device confirmation prompts without choosing reset or erase.
If the wallet reappears, back up the connection info carefully. For a hardware wallet, the device remains the primary signer.
Step 3: If you still have the recovery phrase

If the device was reset or you need to restore a software wallet, use your original 12 or 24-word recovery phrase. During the restore process:
- Enter the words in the exact order.
- Use the official Coin98 app or a trusted BIP39-compatible wallet recommended by Coin98.
- Confirm the address matches your known receiving addresses.
- Store the phrase offline in metal or paper, never in a cloud note.
Step 4: If the recovery phrase was deleted and the device is reset
This is the worst-case scenario. Without the original recovery phrase and without the intact hardware device, the private keys cannot be recovered by Coin98 or any support team. Blockchain wallets are designed so that only the user holds the keys. At this stage, you may only be able to stop further exposure by creating a new wallet and moving any recoverable assets if a backup still exists.

Prevention checklist
- Never write the mnemonic only once; store two verified offline copies.
- Do not photograph or screenshot the recovery phrase.
- Test your backup before sending a large balance.
- Keep device firmware and app versions updated from official channels.
- Treat any support request asking for your 12 or 24 words as a scam.
Final note: If you have only deleted the Coin98 app entry but your hardware device is still working, reconnect it carefully. If the device was factory reset and you lost the mnemonic, there is usually no recovery method.
